Overall Objective:
The overall aim of the Solid Waste Management project is to accelerate Turkey's accession by enabling Turkey to achieve a high level of environmental protection and compliance with the EU waste sector directives. Establishment of a solid waste management system for the Balıkesir municipality in accordance with the Turkish Legislation and the EU Acquis will reduce the pollution of groundwater and environment in Balıkesir Municipality and increase reuse and recycling. The specific objective of this assignment is to prepare the Feasibility Study, Detailed Design and Tender Documents, EIA, ISPA application form and project fiche which will allow implementing necessary precautions for meeting of the quality standards of European Union.

Overall Objective:
The overall objective is to support the reform of the Greater Baku solid waste collection and disposal operations into an effective and sustainable system in the field of improved environmental conditions at the existing waste disposal sites, the built-up of operational, managing and communication capabilities, the rollout of collection services, as well in the field of data collection and planning.

Georgetown Solid Waste Management Programme – Institutional Strengthening and Supervision Consultancy, Guyana.
Overall Objective:
The overall objectives are to strengthen and build capacity related to all institutional aspects of the implementation of the Georgetown Solid Waste Management Programme and in particular the Municipal Solid Waste Management Department (MSWMD). The roles and capacity within the MSWMD should be developed and particularly focus on strengthening capacity to manage accounts, procurement and contract management. The Consultant is to develop, agree and implement the details of the institutional and legal framework related to an integrated system of solid waste management in Georgetown, including roles and responsibilities, waste collection contracts, development of legislation and legal instruments, etc. Also, waste management plans for the Georgetown Municipality and the participating Neighborhood Democratic Councils (NDCs) are to be elaborated with the long-term goal to dispose their water at the Haags Bosch landfill site whose construction will also be supervised and overseen during the first year of operation.

develoPPP.de-Project - Composting of Organic Waste and Production of Organic Fertilizers in the Governorates of Hebron and Ramallah - West Bank, Palestine.
Overall Objective:
The overall objective of the measure is the introduction of a waste management concept dealing with the recycling of organic waste using new technologies for the production of an organic fertilizer as well as the demonstration of the possibilities of producing an organic fertilizer from compost through the establishment of a demonstration plant at the Al Minya landfill. Within the PPP project, a draft for a guideline on the treatment and recycling of organic waste will be developed and discussed with the Ministry of Environment and the Palestine Standards & Metrology Organization and presented as a model for a Palestinian decree.

Overall Objective:
The overall objective is to identify a suitable site for the development of appropriate solid waste management facilities, including sanitary landfill and to prepare Detailed Designs, Environmental Impact Assessment reports, resettlement action plans, Bidding Documents and operations / maintenance manuals for the towns of Eldoret, Machakos, Thika, Embu, Malindi, Nyeri, Garissa.
